Boreal Transport orders two Combi Catamarans from Brødrene Aa05.02.2015
Servogear is pleased to announce the signing of the contract for the Ecoflow Propulsor for two 26 m combi catamarans (BN 275 and 282) with Norwegian carbon experts Brødrene Aa. The vessels are ordered by Boreal Transport Nord, and will be operating in Finnmark, Norway from 2016.
Each vessel holds 97 passengers, and has room for two cars on deck. The new-builds will replace the two older vessels (MS Mårøy and MS Jernøy), and are very environmentally friendly with low emissions compared to the older express boats.
“We are very pleased to sign a contract with Brødrene Aa. It is important to us that Norwegian shipbuilders are competitive, and we are optimistic for the new vessels”, says Kjetil Førsvoll, Chairman of Boreal Transport Nord AS to Skipsrevyen.
The Catamarans will be equipped with Servogear Ecoflow Propulsion ™, including two HD220 gearboxes, controllable pitch propellers, effect rudders, shaft brackets and design of the propeller tunnel for optimum water flow to the propellers. The vessel will have a speed of approximately 27.5 knots.
We look forward to yet another good cooperation with Brødrene Aa.
