Seacat Enterprise exceeds expectations with Servogear CPP24.02.2017
Seacat Services first High Speed Utility Vessel, Seacat Enterprise (YN 80) has performed beyond expectations on sea trials.
The 27m South Boats IOW catamaran is a new category of vessel for the offshore wind market, designed to provide both rapid crew transfer and wide-ranging logistical support for extended periods at sea.
“Seacat Enterprise has run mechanically perfect throughout the trials period achieving or exceeding all targets. We were out today in 'Storm Doris', 2.5m seas and the vessel ran unhindered at 85% load. Seacat Enterprise are able to carry 4 twenty foot containers, or a combination of sizes, in addition to its regular complement of 24 windfarm personnel. Furthermore, with 40,000 liters of fuel available she will be able to operate consistently for extended periods offshore.

Despite her new features, as part of the DNV-GL class-certified Seacat Services fleet, Seacat Enterprise retains the proven technology and attributes to which offshore wind personnel have become accustomed. Enterprise employs the same soft-mounted wheelhouse structure as her sister vessels, alongside further adaptations to boost passenger comfort and minimize noise and vibration. In addition, fender and access systems will be familiar to technicians, ensuring ongoing safety and productivity in the testing offshore environment.
